Community Chest grant awarded
West End Million is supporting plans for the first Morecambe Pride with a grant to LGB&T Out In The Bay.
Out In The Bay, which supports the Lesbian,Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community in
Morecambe, Lancaster and the surrounding area, are hoping to stage a Morecambe Pride event later this year.
The charity applied for a grant from West End Million towards a website for the event and a contribution of £500 was agreed.
It is proposed that Morecambe Pride will be modelled on the successful Lancaster Price which Out In The Bay has run for the past two years. They hope the event will benefit the local economy and boost the resort’s reputation as an inclusive, bustling seaside town.
