CREDIT WHERE IT’S DUE

Funding from West End Million will enable 150 people to join Morecambe Bay Credit Union.

In order to encourage local residents to join the credit union, West End Million has granted £600 which will pay one year’s membership for 150 people via Stanley’s Community Centre, one of the organisations behind the initiative.

The credit union, based in Queen Street, is a savings and loans co-operative owned and run by local people where members save together regularly to create a pool of money from which low-cost loans can be made.
