WEM Mental Health Commission

In line with our current Action Plan, West End Morecambe Big Local (WEM) is looking to commission work to support Mental Health in the West End community. We are working within a maximum budget of £50,000.
This is an open commission looking to invite the widest range of projects that could help in the West End. We will narrow down the final project/s based on what we receive and what will fit within our budget. We may fund one significant project or a number of different sized projects. We are asking for projects to initially indicate the scale they want to deliver things. If we like something but size is an issue we will come back and discuss it.
We always welcome joint organisational bids, and while we prioritise work that targets the West End we do support groups that work a wider area but have members or users in the West End.
We have sent details of this commission to a number of local groups, organisations and networks who we know may have an interest in mental health work. Details will also be going out in our newsletter, although this is supplementary to direct targeting of local groups.
If you think you know of other groups that may be interested in this please be a good neighbour and let them know about the opportunity.

Ideas from less well-established groups
We recognise there might be small or new West End groups who have ideas related to mental health but are not confident about how to take them forward. Our main commission may not be suitable for such less well-established groups.
However, we are still keen to hear about such ideas, and have created a separate ‘Ideas from less well-established groups’ sheet to fill in. Its very simple and means you can put a mental health idea forward if you want to. We promise to look at all suggestions and, if something fits, we will try and find a way to help or point people to other avenues of support.
Closing date
The closing date for the commission is the end of the day Monday 24th April 2023. Submissions should be sent electronically to admin@westendmorecambe.co.uk or as a hard copy to: WEM, c/o LDCVS, The Cornerstone, Sulyard Street, Lancaster, LA1 1PX.
